The Junction Inn is situated at the junction of Priory Road and Adelaide Road, near the distinctive Horseshoe Bridge. A few hundred yards away is The River Itchen where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the riverside toward the Football Stadium or just enjoy the view. Across the Road is St Denys Community Centre, making the pub an ideal place to relax after your social or sporting activity.
Approaching by road, the pub can be reached from Thomas Lewis Way via Horseshoe Bridge or via Priory or Adelaide Roads off St Denys Road.
The pub began its life in the 1860’s and was called the Wareham Arms. In 1878, it became the Junction Inn to mark opening of the new railway junction at St Denys. In February 2012, a fire occurred on the upper floor, causing its closure until September of that year. Fortunately, the actual bar area escaped serious damage. The building and interior are Grade II Listed and it was registered as an Asset of Community Value in 2016.
